Support Groups

All NAMI courses and support groups are in  safe and confidential settings.

All programs are taught by trained and certified NAMI facilitators.

These meetings are referred to as peer support, and not psychotherapy. Meetings usually last either 1 or 1 ½ hours. To see our scheduled support group meetings, please visit our calendar page.

Connection Support Group

The Connection Support Group is for adults with a diagnosed mental illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective, schizophrenia, OCD, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, etc. No pre-registration required.

  • Meets every Monday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605
  • Meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St., Taylors, SC 29687 (Room B127; you may park in the lot reserved as “handicapped” for Sundays.)
  • Veterans Group Only: First and Third Wednesdays at 9:30am, VA Clinic, 41 Park Creek Drive, Greenville, SC 29605 (off Grove Road near Greenville Memorial Hospital)

NAMI Family Support Group

The Caregivers Support Group is for adults who have family members with mental illness. No pre-registration required.

  • Meets every Monday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605
  • Meets every 2nd Thursday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St., Taylors, SC 29687 (room B128; you may park in the lot reserved as “handicapped” for Sundays.)
  • Designed for adult loved ones (18+) of individuals living with mental illness
  • Led by family members of individuals living with mental illness
  • Meets weekly or monthly
  • No specific medical therapy or medication is endorsed or recommended
  • Confidential

NAMI Spartanburg Support Groups

Support groups are ongoing with no registration and are free. These are referred to as peer support and not psychotherapy. Meeting last about 60 to 90 minutes.

Connection Group for adults with diagnosed mental illness such as Depression, Bipolar disorder, Schizoaffective, Shoizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, Borderline Personality disorder, ect.

Able SC Equip Group

EQUIP is an inclusive, educational group designed to teach young adults (ages 13-28) with disabilities the value of self-advocacy, disability pride, youth empowerment, and professional skills. EQUIP is comprised of young adults with disabilities who are passionate about reaching their full potential and empowering others to do so as well!
