Support Groups

Online support groups

Currently, all in-person support groups have been suspended due to COVID-19. However, we now offer online support groups on Mondays at 6:15. Click here to learn more. These support groups are free and do not require pre-registration.

All NAMI courses and support groups are in safe and confidential settings.

All programs are taught by trained and certified NAMI facilitators.

These meetings are referred to as peer support and not psychotherapy. Meetings usually last between 1 and 1 ½ hours. To see our scheduled support group meetings, please visit our calendar page.

The Connection Support Group is for adults with a diagnosed mental illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective, schizophrenia, OCD, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, etc. No pre-registration required.

  • Meets every Monday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605
  • Meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St., Taylors, SC 29687 (Room B127; you may park in the lot reserved as “handicapped” for Sundays.)
  • *Veterans-Only Group*: First and Third Wednesdays at 9:30am, VA Clinic, 41 Park Creek Drive, Greenville, SC 29605 (off Grove Road near Greenville Memorial Hospital)

Groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators with mental health conditions. 

The Family Support Group is for adults who have family members with mental illness. No pre-registration required.

  • Meets every Monday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605
  • Meets every 2nd Thursday at 6:15-7:45 pm, Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St., Taylors, SC 29687 (room B128; you may park in the lot reserved as “handicapped” for Sundays.)
  • Designed for any adult (18+) with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health conditions
  • Meets weekly or monthly
  • No specific medical therapy or medication is endorsed or recommended
  • Confidential

Groups are led by family members of people with mental health conditions.

Veterans-Only Connection Support Group

Because of the unique mental health challenges faced by our veterans and active duty servicemen, NAMI Greenville offers a Veterans-Only Connection Support Group.
